Niwa vs. Booksy
Compare Niwa's direct WhatsApp booking and website-aware AI with Booksy's scheduling and marketplace. Explore costs and day-to-day business tasks.
Choose Niwa when you want an intelligent agent to answer service questions and book directly through WhatsApp or website conversations. It uses your WordPress website's business context and supports connected sales and owner tasks. Booksy is a candidate when your priority is a dedicated service-business calendar, client tools and discovery through its consumer marketplace.
The useful comparison is the work each product will own. A salon can need both a reliable appointment diary and help explaining its services. Those are connected jobs, but buying a calendar does not automatically settle who updates the website or answers a client who is unsure what to book.
Start with the client's route to an appointment
A returning barber client may want the same service and time as last month. A direct booking link is convenient for that person. Another client asks whether a beard reshape is included in a haircut or needs its own appointment. That person needs accurate service information before choosing a slot.
Niwa uses the information on your website to help with that decision. On WhatsApp, it can explain the services, offer available times, collect the appointment details and record the booking directly through the conversation. The Niwa booking agent connects that work to the business's services and availability. Clients can also book through conversations on your website.
Booksy gives businesses online self-booking and a profile in the Booksy marketplace. A client arriving through that profile enters Booksy's booking route. If people already find your shop there, include that source of demand in the comparison. A website assistant serves the people who reach your business; it does not reproduce a marketplace's audience simply by being installed.
Booksy's current US price and Boost terms
On October 9, 2026, Booksy's US pricing page listed $29.99 per month plus tax, with each extra user at $20 per month. Payment processing is charged separately. The subscription includes booking, client management and marketing tools.
Boost is optional. The current US terms show a one-time commission of 30% of an eligible new client's first visit, capped at $100. Later visits do not carry that acquisition commission. Booksy explains how sharing your own profile link distinguishes clients from your own marketing. These are US terms, not a price promise for every country.
Compare the relevant costs together. A shop that uses Boost should look at the value of the clients acquired, not only its monthly subscription. A shop getting bookings from its own website should examine the tools needed for that route.
Where Niwa changes the owner's working day
Consider a barber adding a longer appointment for a new service. The schedule needs the right duration, but clients also need a useful description explaining what is included. With Niwa, the owner can ask for a WordPress content update and check the revised page before customers use it.
The customer assistant then has clearer business information to work with. It should describe the actual service and send someone who needs a personal assessment to the team. That connection between site content and enquiries is the main reason to evaluate Niwa alongside a scheduling platform.
Booksy's business tools remain relevant if you depend on its client records, reminders, payments or marketing workflow. Niwa is not being offered here as an equivalent card terminal or a replacement for every Booksy operation. Make a list of the functions your staff use during a normal shift and decide where each will continue to live.
Keeping Booksy while introducing Niwa
You can choose to retain your Booksy booking link for particular services. When Niwa shares that link and a client follows it, the appointment remains in Booksy. Direct conversational booking through Niwa uses its own appointment system. Keeping an external link is an optional setup, not the extent of Niwa's booking capability.
Agree on the route before changing buttons or messages. Explain to the team which calendar is authoritative and avoid offering two independent schedules for the same member of staff. This comparison does not claim a native Niwa-to-Booksy appointment sync or automatic transfer of existing client records.
For a useful trial, ask a question clients actually ask, check the answer against your service page and complete a test reservation in the WhatsApp conversation. Then find the appointment in the team's schedule. If you choose to retain Booksy for a service, test that separate link route too.
What you can buy from Niwa
Existing WordPress owners can use the standalone Niwa AI plugin. Installation, AI connection and business information are covered in the Niwa setup guide. You do not need to replace a working website just to add customer assistance.
Niwa Business is USD 150 and includes a custom WordPress website or migration, hosting, maintenance and AI tools adapted to your business. With your own supported AI subscription connection, there are no extra Niwa AI usage charges or Niwa-imposed usage caps on that connection; your provider's terms and limits still apply.
Choose around the work you want to improve
Booksy makes sense when its platform and discovery channel are central to the business. Niwa fits a shop that wants website-aware conversations to handle enquiries, direct bookings and connected sales, with help maintaining WordPress through the week. Keeping an established booking platform for selected work is also an option.
Discuss your Niwa setup with your website address, team size and current booking route. Include the Booksy functions you want to retain and two or three service questions you want the website to answer. That gives the discussion a concrete starting point rather than treating a software change as an end in itself.
