How to Build an AI-Powered Website in 3 Steps

Choose a useful business task, connect the website's information and tools, and test the result before customers depend on it.

Build an AI-powered website by choosing a useful business task, connecting the information and tools needed to perform it, and testing the complete journey before launch. Generating a homepage with AI is a separate job. The website becomes AI-powered when the assistant continues helping customers or the owner after the pages are published.

Niwa provides that operating layer on WordPress. You can add the standalone Niwa AI plugin to an existing site, or use Niwa Business to have the website and business tools configured together. The three steps below describe the implementation work that makes either route useful.

Step 1: define what the website should help someone finish

Start with a task that happens often enough to justify attention. A product customer might need to find the right size. A service customer might need to understand an appointment and reach an available time. An owner might need to revise service information without leaving an unfinished page behind.

Write down the starting question, the information required and the result that counts as completion. For a booking, the result is an appointment record. For a product enquiry, it might be a relevant available variant and a clear route to purchase. A long conversation is not itself a successful result.

Choose one initial journey rather than enabling every feature. For a small repair business, a useful starting point could be explaining which service covers a customer's problem and directing them to its booking page. The assistant should also know when the request needs a person, such as work outside the advertised service area.

Gather the material that supports this journey: service descriptions, prices, opening hours, policies, location details and a current contact route. Resolve contradictions before connecting the assistant. An old price on one page and a newer price in a PDF create a business-information problem that a model cannot reliably settle for you.

If the website still needs to be built, create the necessary pages around this information. Treat AI-generated text and layouts as drafts. The difference between building and powering a website explains why a polished design alone does not deliver the operating workflow.

Step 2: connect the information, model and permitted tools

On WordPress, install Niwa from the supplied plugin ZIP, activate the licence and connect a supported AI account. Use the current Niwa installation guide for the exact screens. Licence activation, provider authentication and enabling the visitor chat are separate parts of setup.

Give the assistant access to current website information and run the appropriate indexing process. Then configure the tools needed for the first task. A booking journey needs real services and availability. Product assistance needs accurate catalog attributes and stock. An owner-side editing task needs permission to read and update the relevant content.

Keep customer access separate from owner access. A customer asking about a price should receive information, while an authorized owner can request a price change. These are different operations even when both begin with a sentence in a chat interface.

Niwa can also complete appointments directly in WhatsApp conversations. Connect the business's services and availability so a customer can ask a question, choose a time and book through the conversation. Its agent uses the website's business context for booking and enabled sales actions in that channel.

Connect your own supported AI subscription without extra Niwa AI usage fees or Niwa-imposed usage caps. Provider subscription terms still apply; an API connection uses separate provider billing.

Step 3: test the journey, then introduce it to customers

Use representative questions with known answers. Include a straightforward request, a missing detail, an unavailable option and a request outside the permitted scope. Read the result as a customer would: can they understand the answer and take the next step?

For a booking on the website or through WhatsApp, choose a real available slot in a controlled test and inspect the saved service, attendee, time and timezone. Check notification delivery separately. For catalog assistance, open the recommended item and verify the exact variant rather than checking only that a product name appeared.

Try the public interface on a phone. The launcher should not obscure navigation or the booking control, and the visitor should be able to close it and continue using the website. A conversation that works in an administrator's dashboard does not prove that the customer interface works.

Review the information sent to the AI provider and any connected services. Niwa's privacy and safety guide describes this data path. Keep a working human contact route, especially for requests the initial setup cannot complete.

After launch, inspect unanswered questions and incomplete journeys. Improve the relevant source page or configuration, then repeat the affected test. Add another task when the first one works well enough to maintain.

Choose the implementation route that fits your website

Niwa Business costs USD 150 for a custom WordPress website or agreed migration, hosting, maintenance and an AI operating system adapted to the business. The standalone Niwa AI plugin plan adds that operating layer to an existing WordPress website.

Contact Niwa with your current website, the first task you want to support and the record or outcome that should prove it worked. Those details provide a better starting point than a request to add AI everywhere.
