Why Is My Landing Page Not Converting?

A landing page can lose visitors when the promise, explanation and next step do not fit together. Diagnose the mismatch before rewriting everything.

Your landing page may not be converting because the visitor expects a different offer, cannot judge whether it suits them, lacks believable evidence, or reaches a difficult next step. It can also work commercially while its tracking misses completed actions. Compare the promise that brought the person in with what the page actually helps them do.

A landing page has a specific job. If it asks for a quote, judge suitable quote requests. If it sells a product, inspect purchases. A long visit or a button click is useful context, but neither proves that the job was completed.

Niwa's website assistant helps a visitor turn interest into a product choice, enquiry or appointment. It uses your website's business context to explain the offer and carry the conversation into the relevant shopping or booking workflow.

Read the page from the visitor's starting point

Open the ad, link or search result that brought people in, then open its destination. Ask whether the first screen confirms the same service, product, location and offer.

An illustrative mismatch is a local installation ad leading to a page dominated by a generic company history. The visitor has to search for the service they clicked to see. Another is a product promotion opening a page where the advertised variant is unavailable or difficult to identify.

Google's landing-page guidance connects the page and ad with the customer's intended action. Use that relationship to check whether the page supports the action promised in the ad.

If the visitors are researching, a quote request may be too large a leap before they understand the service. If they already know what they want, a long introduction may hide the route they need. Decide which situation the page serves using the entry source and actual questions.

Look for the missing decision information

Can the reader tell what they receive, who the offer suits and what they need to do next? Explain the relevant scope, cost or quote basis, eligibility and practical limitations in language a customer would use.

For a service page, that might include the area covered, what is included and what information the team needs to prepare a quote. For a product, it might be dimensions, materials, variants and delivery. Use your actual offer rather than adding claims because a copy formula calls for them.

Review real enquiries for what people still ask after reading the page. A repeated question can indicate a missing answer, though it is not proof that every visitor shares that concern.

Niwa can use the same verified business information in a conversation. If someone asks whether the service covers their situation, the assistant can explain documented criteria or route the unresolved question to the team. It should not make up a scope exception to win the enquiry.

Check the evidence behind each important claim

Choose proof that helps someone assess the offer: an authentic project example, accurate product demonstration, genuine customer feedback or a clearly explained process. Describe where it came from and what it establishes.

If you cannot support a numerical result or a delivery promise, remove it or replace it with a factual explanation. Copy becomes more useful when the reader can judge the actual offer rather than interpret a stack of superlatives.

Follow the CTA all the way through

Click the action from the public page in a private session. Complete an appropriately identified test request and verify its destination. If the page leads to booking, check that a suitable service and an available time can be selected and that the reservation is saved.

With Niwa's booking workflow, a customer can ask about a service, choose an available time and complete the appointment on the website or directly in WhatsApp. Niwa uses the website's business context and connected booking information. Set the service duration, working hours and required customer details, then check the saved appointment.

Look for a form asking for unexplained sensitive details, a calendar with no usable availability or a product page that loses the chosen variant. These are failures after the invitation, and changing the headline will leave them intact.

Inspect the first screen on a real phone

Check whether the promise, relevant product or service and next step are readable before decorative material takes over. Watch for moving layouts, delayed controls and overlays blocking the form.

Use Core Web Vitals guidance to investigate loading, responsiveness and stability alongside actual interaction. A speed score alone does not explain why someone declined the offer.

Keep assistance available without letting its launcher cover the button the visitor is trying to use. Test the page with the same entry route used by your campaign, including an in-app browser where relevant.

Write a specific diagnosis before choosing the change

State what you observed, what it suggests and how you will check it. For example: "People arrive for installation prices, but cannot find the basis of the quote before a long form." The next investigation is the offer explanation and form path, not a wholesale redesign.

For a reproducible defect, repair and verify it. For a message or information hypothesis, change the supported gap and compare suitable completed outcomes with similar traffic.
