Niwa MCP Access: Current Status
Current status as of September 12, 2026: Niwa supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), but Niwa does not currently offer an open, anonymous public MCP endpoint or a self-serve public MCP directory listing.
MCP access is provided as a private, authenticated connection for an approved WordPress installation. Access is controlled with site-specific credentials, permissions, and the tools enabled for that installation.
What this means
- Niwa can connect compatible external AI clients and agents to controlled WordPress workflows.
- Access must be configured for the specific site and use case.
- Available actions depend on the installed Niwa version, WordPress configuration, user role, and approved permissions.
- Niwa does not provide unrestricted public access to a website, WooCommerce data, customer data, email, or administrative actions.
