To do conversion rate optimization, choose one customer action, verify that you can measure it, find a specific obstacle, make a focused improvement and evaluate whether more of the right customers complete the action. Repeat the process using what you learn. A prettier page or more button clicks is useful only when it helps the business outcome you chose.

For a WordPress business, Niwa answers customer questions using your website's business information, completes connected booking and sales workflows, and helps the owner edit pages. Use the conversations to identify missing information, then make a controlled page change. Use an experiment tool for visitor allocation and statistical analysis.

Choose a goal that represents useful business

Pick a completed purchase, a saved appointment or a successfully submitted enquiry. For lead generation, decide what makes an enquiry qualified. A real contact seeking a service you provide is different from spam or a request outside your service area.

Write down the measurement unit and eligible audience. For example: completed quote requests per visitor assigned to a service-page experiment. Use the same unit for both versions. Do not compare all website sessions in one period with visits to one page in another.

If you use GA4, distinguish an event count from a session rate. Google's metrics documentation defines session key event rate around sessions that trigger a key event. Several submissions in one session should not be treated as several converting sessions.

Record a baseline alongside absolute counts. An illustrative result of 20 enquiries from 1,000 eligible visits gives a 2% rate when each enquiry corresponds to a different eligible visit. These are example numbers, not a benchmark or a Niwa result.

Check that the journey and tracking work

Follow the customer route yourself on a phone and a desktop. Open the entry page, read the offer, take the next step and confirm that the business receives the result.

For a contact form, verify both successful submission and delivery to the team. For booking, check that the appointment exists in the schedule. Count neither the click that opens a calendar nor an error message as a completed booking.

Run the same checks on your measurement. A success event should correspond to success, and refreshing a confirmation page should not manufacture another lead. Remove test activity from your assessment. If tracking broke during the baseline period, establish a usable baseline before comparing versions.

Investigate one obstacle with customer evidence

Analytics can show where people stop. It does not establish why. Combine it with realistic task observation, customer questions and a review of the actual page.

Suppose visitors repeatedly ask whether a service is available in their area. Check whether the service page answers that question before the enquiry button. Niwa can answer from the approved information, but the page should also state the answer where customers need it.

Read the conversations for meaning. A question about location might concern delivery, attendance or the provider's premises. Do not group different problems simply because they share a word. Remove personal details from your working notes.

The output should be a concrete observation: customers cannot find the service area before starting an enquiry. "The page feels old" is not enough to explain a conversion problem.

Turn the observation into a focused hypothesis

Use a statement you can evaluate: "Showing the service area beside the enquiry button will help eligible customers decide whether to contact us, without increasing enquiries we cannot serve."

Record the page, audience, proposed change, primary outcome and a guardrail. In this case, the guardrail could be the share of enquiries outside your service area.

Fix confirmed defects directly. A form that cannot submit needs repair. When two working alternatives remain plausible, an experiment can help choose between them.

With enough relevant traffic, randomly show a control and one variation concurrently. Plan the sample and stopping rule before launch. With little traffic, observe representative people completing the task, improve the obvious problem and monitor the outcome cautiously. A small before-and-after comparison cannot isolate the effect of the change.

Use Niwa in the improvement workflow

Start with accurate services, prices, product details and policies. Install the standalone Niwa plugin on an existing WordPress site, connect a supported AI provider and configure the customer assistance you need. The guide to Niwa's WordPress connection explains how authorized owner operations connect to the site.

For the service-area example, give Niwa the approved coverage information. Test a customer question, confirm its answer and check the link to the enquiry or booking route. Use the owner editing tools to update the relevant page, then verify the saved change and the customer journey.

When a customer asks about an appointment on WhatsApp, Niwa uses your website's service information and booking context to answer, check availability and complete the reservation in the conversation. Measure the saved appointment separately from the conversation, just as you would for a website booking.

A website built with AI uses AI during development. A website powered by AI uses it after launch too, for tasks such as answering customer questions, booking appointments and carrying out supported owner edits.

Evaluate the result and decide what to do next

Review the primary outcome, qualified enquiries, errors and any relevant revenue or margin measure. Keep the traffic mix, promotions and operational changes in view.

If an experiment supports a useful improvement and the guardrails are acceptable, apply the variation and check it again after rollout. If the result is inconclusive, record that honestly. Avoid renaming a weak result a win because the button received more clicks.

Keep a brief decision log: observation, change, dates, outcome and next question. CRO becomes more useful when each round explains something about the customer journey.

Discuss a practical WordPress setup

Niwa Business is USD 150 and includes a custom WordPress website or migration, hosting, maintenance and AI adaptation for the business. Existing WordPress owners can use the standalone plugin. Supported own-subscription connections have no added Niwa AI usage fees or Niwa-imposed usage caps; provider terms still apply and API billing is separate.

Contact Niwa about your website with one page and the customer action you want to improve. That gives the discussion a concrete starting point: what visitors need, what the website should help them do and how you will check the outcome.
